Gregory Arlt

Gregory Arlt, a native of Los Angeles, has established a distinguished career as a makeup artist spanning over three decades. His professional journey began in 1989 at the boutique Fred Segal, following his studies in art history and theatre. In 1993, Arlt joined MAC Cosmetics, where he advanced from a traveling makeup artist to a Trainer, Senior Makeup Artist, and eventually the Director of Makeup Artistry, a position he held until 2022. During his tenure, he served as a brand spokesperson and celebrity makeup artist. His contributions to the beauty industry have been recognized with notable awards, including the Hollywood Beauty Award for Best Makeup Artist in 2015 and the Ibiza Music Award for Best Makeup In A Music Video for Gwen Stefani’s “Misery.”

Arlt is represented by Forward Artists agency and is a member of the Local 706 makeup union. His extensive client list features many prominent figures such as Dita Von Teese, Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Coolidge, Victoria Beckham, Katy Perry, and Cher. He regularly provides beauty commentary on television programs like “Access Hollywood,” “Entertainment Tonight,” “Extra,” “CNN,” “E! Entertainment Television,” and “The Style Network.” Arlt has also contributed his artistic vision to major fashion collections in Milan, Paris, and New York, designing makeup looks for designers including Oscar de la Renta, Alexander McQueen, Ungaro, Michael Kors, and Chloe.

His expertise extends globally, conducting makeup master classes, editorial photo shoots, and television appearances across countries in Europe, Australia, Asia, and the Americas.
