Matthew VanLeeuwen
Matthew Vanleeuwen is a celebrity makeup artist known for his work with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum, Scarlett Johansson, and Shannen Doherty. His work has also been featured in pretty much every top magazine that you can think of, from Elle and Harper’s Bazaar to Marie Claire and Vogue. He has also recently branched out into baking, opening the Miracle City Bakery in Conroe, Texas with celebrity skincare specialist, Yolanda “Yoliglo” Mata.
Vanleeuwen has been a fan of makeup artistry since childhood, but it wasn’t until he reached college that he began to harbour ambitions of becoming a professional MUA. Some of his most high-profile work has been in film and television: he was Jennifer Lopez’s personal makeup artist for her 2001 film, The Wedding Planner, and did supermodel Heidi Klum’s makeup for her appearances on Project Runway and Models of the Runway in 2009 and 2010.
Recently, Vanleeuwen’s career efforts have been largely focused on promoting his new craft micro bakery project, the Miracle City Bakery, which is based in the Moco Foodhall in Conroe, Texas. He set the venture up with his best friend, Yoliglo, and the pair can regularly be found there serving all kinds of healthy, but sweet, treats.
