Hailey Hunter joined XXIO golf in an exciting new partnership. She will collaborate on a diverse range of video content and play a role in the brand’s upcoming product releases in 2024, utilizing her passion for golf and commitment to growing women's involvement in the sport.
Hailey Hunter partnered with PGA Tour Superstore to introduce a 60 SKU capsule collection of golf and athleisure wear. This collection features curated looks from brands such as TravisMatthew, Vineyard Vines, and Adidas, available both online and in-store. Hunter also hosted a Q&A with Rose Zhang for the retailer.
Hailey Hunter pursued her education at the Scripps School of Journalism, earning a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism with minors in Sports Management and Acting. During her time at Ohio University, she was a Division 1 Women’s Golf Scholarship recipient and served as team captain in 2017. Following her college career, Hunter initially explored professional golf, participating in mini-tournaments. However, the financial and logistical demands of a professional golf career, estimated at approximately $80,000 to $100,000 annually for travel and entry fees, led her to pivot to broadcasting. This transition occurred during a qualifying school event in Palm Springs, California, where she realized her interest in storytelling and interviewing.
Hunter’s broadcasting career began to gain momentum, with early experiences including on-camera work for PGA Tour Live and the Golf Channel. From June 2022 to September 2023, she worked for the Golf Channel, covering various golf tournaments. Her experience also extends to international events, having reported on snowboard cross at the Winter Olympics in an unspecified year. In 2023, Hunter joined SportsNet Pittsburgh as the Penguins rinkside reporter and host. This role connects her to the Pittsburgh Penguins, a team with familial ties, as her father, Tim Hrynewich, played for the team in the early 1980s.
Throughout her career, Hunter has focused on promoting women’s participation in golf. She was involved in the LPGA’s #Inviteher campaign, aimed at making golf more inclusive for women. She has also collaborated with brands to create women’s golf apparel collections, addressing the historical lack of suitable options for female golfers. In January 2024, Hunter announced a partnership with XXIO golf, where she will contribute to video content and product releases. She continues to engage with a substantial social media following, using her platform to advocate for women in sports and share her experiences in both golf and hockey.
