Jamie Hersch

Jamie Hersch was born on May 25, 1987, and raised in Champlin, Minnesota. Her early interest in broadcasting was influenced by Michele Tafoya. She began covering sports events during high school and graduated from Champlin Park High School in 2005. Hersch continued her education at the University of Southern California, graduating magna cum laude in 2009. While at USC, she gained practical experience covering the university’s athletic teams and held various positions at the campus television station. In 2009, she achieved third place in the Hearst Broadcast Competition, securing a prize of one thousand dollars.

Hersch began her professional career at WKOW-TV in Madison, Wisconsin. In 2013, she returned to her home state, joining Fox Sports North, now known as Bally Sports North. In this role, she covered the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Wild. During her tenure with Fox Sports North, Hersch undertook a unique assignment, traveling to Kuwait to report on former NHL players who were bringing hockey to American troops stationed overseas. This involved living at Camp Buehring with soldiers for several days, conducting hockey skills clinics, and organizing floor hockey games on the base. This experience highlighted her commitment to reporting beyond traditional studio settings.

In 2015, Hersch joined the MLB Network and NHL Network when the two entities partnered. She became a regular host for NHL Network’s studio programming, including “On The Fly,” “NHL Now,” and “NHL Tonight.” Additionally, she occasionally hosted the MLB Network’s “Quick Pitch.” Hersch announced her departure from the MLB Network in September 2024. Throughout her career, she has also contributed to the Big Ten Network. She is recognized for her play-by-play, hosting, and reporting duties for the PWHL, NHL, MLB, and NWSL.
