Hal Ozsan

Halil Ozsan, known professionally as Hal Ozsan, was born on October 26, 1976, in Famagusta, Cyprus. He relocated with his family to the United Kingdom at the age of three, growing up in the East London suburb of Havering. Ozsan received his education at Brentwood School in Essex, where he earned a distinction for drama at the age of 11. He later moved to the United States in the 1990s, marking the beginning of his career in the American entertainment industry across film and television projects.

Ozsan gained early recognition for his role as Todd Carr in the final two seasons of “Dawson’s Creek” (2001-2003). Following this, he appeared as the fallen angel Azazel in ABCF’s “Fallen” (2007) and as Cassidy in “Kyle XY” (2009). Other notable television performances include Miles Canon in “90210” (2010-2011) and Joey DiMarco in the television movie remake of “Helter Skelter” (2004). His film career began with a supporting role opposite Al Pacino in “S1m0ne” (2002). Between 2006 and 2008, Ozsan served as the singer-songwriter for the Los Angeles-based rock band Poets and Pornstars, leading to national radio airplay and performances alongside artists like Bon Jovi, Alice in Chains, and Muse. Songs written by Ozsan have been featured in various films and television shows, including “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Californication.” He has since continued his acting career with roles in “Jessica Jones” (2018), “NCIS: New Orleans” (2019-2020), and “The Blacklist” (2014).

In addition to his acting roles, Ozsan has expanded his career to include screenwriting and producing. He served as co-executive producer and co-writer for the Viceland comedy series “What Would Diplo Do?” (2017), where he reunited with his “Dawson’s Creek” co-star James Van Der Beek. This role highlighted his capabilities beyond acting and demonstrated his creative involvement behind the camera. His career reflects a sustained engagement with both performing arts and content creation within the entertainment industry.
