Harrison Smith

Selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round as the 29th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Harrison Smith immediately established himself as a dominant safety. Coming off a decorated collegiate career at Notre Dame where he achieved 93 tackles and a team-high seven interceptions in 2010 and served as team captain in 2011 with 90 tackles, Smith quickly made his mark in the NFL. He was named Vikings Rookie of the Year and earned a coveted spot on the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2012, solidifying his professional foundation. His early recognition included being named the Gatorade Football Player of the Year in Tennessee in 2006.

He holds several significant franchise records for the Vikings, including the most sacks by a defensive back. In 2024, Smith further cemented his place in NFL history as only the sixth player ever to achieve the remarkable milestone of 35 interceptions and 20 sacks.
