Hayley McQueen

Hayley McQueen was born on December 9, 1979, in Manchester, England. Her early life also involved periods in Scotland and Bangkok before her family settled in Hutton Rudby, North Yorkshire, in 1994. McQueen began her television career working behind the camera as a runner and production assistant for “Richard and Judy.” This initial experience provided a foundation in the television industry, subsequently leading her to roles within sports broadcasting.

Her career progressed with a position at Middlesbrough’s Boro TV, where she worked as a reporter and producer. She further engaged with the football community through Middlesbrough FC’s “Football in the Community” scheme. A significant turning point in her career was being recruited by Sky Sports News, where she transitioned to an on-screen presenter role. She left Sky Television in December 2006 to join Manchester United TV (MUTV) for four seasons, serving as the main match day anchor. In this role, she presented and produced news, daily talk shows, and live match day build-up and phone-in programs. She also conducted weekly interviews with prominent figures such as Sir Alex Ferguson and various players.

McQueen expanded her international broadcasting experience by hosting a daily live show for Al Jazeera Sport during the 2010 World Cup tournament. This role involved interacting with high-profile guests and reaching a substantial daily audience of over 100 million viewers worldwide. She returned to Sky Sports in August 2010 with the launch of Sky Sports News in HD. In her current capacity as a Sky Sports News presenter, she works in a live news environment, frequently reporting on major sports stories. She also presents ‘Sport Sunday,’ a weekly five-hour program. McQueen has interviewed many notable sports figures, including Usain Bolt, David Beckham, Jose Mourinho, and Cristiano Ronaldo. Beyond her broadcasting roles, she is involved in various ‘Football in the Community’ projects and is a regular match day host for organizations like the FA and Manchester United.
