Heather McMahan was born on March 15, 1987, in Atlanta, Georgia. She pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theater from the University of Mississippi, graduating in 2009. Prior to her rise in comedy, McMahan trained at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) in Los Angeles and worked at the front desk of SoulCycle, supporting herself while working to establish her comedy career. Her early professional roles included acting credits in television series such as “If Loving You Is Wrong” (2017) and “Zoe Ever After” (2016), as well as TV movies like “Merry Ex-Mas” (2016) and “Bride to Maybe” (2015).
McMahan rapidly gained recognition for her comedic talent, particularly through her podcast “Absolutely Not! with Heather McMahan.” Her authenticity and relatable humor, described as an “auditory David Sedaris for the millennial set” by The Hollywood Reporter, resonate with a broad audience.
