Henry Winkler is an American actor, producer, director, and author known for his role as Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli on Happy Days and his later work in film and television, including the Emmy-winning series Barry. After achieving widespread recognition with his iconic role as Arthur ‘Fonzie’ Fonzarelli in the ABC series Happy Days, which premiered in 1974 and continued until its conclusion in 1984, Henry Winkler established himself as a cultural icon of the 1970s. He prepared for his professional career by earning a Bachelor’s degree from Emerson College in 1967 and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama in 1970. His early acting work included a major film role in The Lords of Flatbush in 1974.
Demonstrating a commitment to philanthropy, he co-founded the Children’s Action Network (CAN) in 1990, an initiative dedicated to providing free immunizations to children.
