Croatia Hrvoje Benic is a Croatian water polo player known for his defensive role and contributions to both club and national teams, highlighted by his participation in international championships.
Hrvoje Benic was born on April 26, 1992, in Croatia. He developed into a field player, primarily operating as a center back, and is right-handed. His early career saw him join VK Jug, one of Croatia’s prominent water polo clubs, from 2008 to 2014, establishing the foundation for his professional journey. During this period, he was part of the Croatia squad that won the 2009 FINA U20 Water Polo World Championship, marking an early career milestone.
After his initial tenure with VK Jug, Benic moved to Sportul Studentesc Bucharest for the 2014-2015 season. He then returned to VK Jug, where he played from 2015 to 2022. A significant achievement during this second period with VK Jug was winning the 2015–16 LEN Champions League. His career progression continued with his involvement in the Croatian national team, participating in events such as the 2019 World Championships where he contributed to the team securing a bronze medal.
Since 2022, Hrvoje Benic has been playing for Waspo 98 Hannover. Throughout his career, Benic has been recognized for his consistent performance and strategic play as a key defensive player in water polo. His experience spans top-tier club competitions and international national team duties, showcasing a sustained presence in professional water polo.
