Croatian water polo player Lovre Milos plays for both his national team and HVAK Mladost in Zagreb and is a UC Irvine Athletic graduate.
Milos started playing water polo when he was just 10 years old, and enjoyed a successful junior career. He was part of the team which represented his home country at the 2012 FINA World Youth Championships in Australia, and he led his Under 19’s team to victory at the Croatian National Championship in 2013. Milos then went to study in America as part of the prestigious UC Irvine Athletics programme, where he gained his degree in business economics. On leaving the university he was selected to be part of the Croatian national team and has played with the squad ever since. In 2019 he participated in his first World Championships, held in South Korea, and won a bronze medal at the competition. He is also a part of the HVAK Mladost club, based in Zagreb, and helped the team secure the gold medal at the 2019 Croatian Championships. Milos scored three goals in the final and was named Most Valuable Player in the tournament.
Most recently Milos has competed at the 2020 European Water Polo Championships as well as in the LEN Champions League. This young player has already made waves on the scene, and looks set for many more years of success to come.
