Iain De Caestecker

Iain De Caestecker is a Scottish actor recognized for his extensive work across television and film, including his prominent role in a major Marvel television series. After joining the cast of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in 2013 as Leopold Fitz, a role he maintained as a main cast member for six seasons and a special guest star in the final seventh season, totaling 122 episodes, Iain De Caestecker had already established a robust career. His early work included a recurring role as Adam Barlow in the UK soap opera Coronation Street from 2001 to 2003, appearing in 54 episodes.

In 2013, he was seen in Filth, and in 2014, he took a lead role in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut, Lost River, which earned selection for the prestigious 67th Cannes Film Festival. Demonstrating his versatility across genres, he co-starred in the J.J. Abrams-produced science fiction war film Overlord in 2018, further solidifying his presence in major studio productions. Transitioning from his extensive Marvel tenure, De Caestecker returned to British television with significant roles.

In 2020, he appeared in the acclaimed BBC One miniseries Us and starred opposite Hugh Laurie in the political-thriller Roadkill. His compelling performances continued in 2022, leading the cast of the BBC One drama The Control Room, and in 2023, he portrayed the iconic Arthur Pendragon in the historical drama The Winter King. Iain De Caestecker continues to engage in diverse projects, with an upcoming role in the series The Undertow. Expanding his creative talents, he is also currently directing and writing the short film A Means to an Ending, marking his foray into behind-the-camera work.
