Ian Stuart Bohen was born on September 24, 1976, in Carmel, California. His acting career began in 1993 with his debut in Todd Field’s AFI Conservatory project, ‘Delivering’. He subsequently appeared as ‘Young Earp’ in Lawrence Kasdan’s 1994 Oscar-nominated film, ‘Wyatt Earp’, where he played a younger version of Kevin Costner’s character. In 1997, Bohen was cast as Young Hercules in ‘Hercules: The Legendary Journeys’, a role he reprised in the television movie ‘Young Hercules’. From 1998 to 2001, he had a recurring role as Johnny O’Brien in ten episodes of ‘Any Day Now’.
Bohen gained wider recognition for his recurring role as Peter Hale in MTV’s ‘Teen Wolf’, appearing in 42 episodes from 2011 to 2017. During this period, he also had a recurring role as Daniel Dunn in ‘Major Crimes’ in 2012 and Edwin Stillwell in ‘Chicago P.D.’ in 2014. His film work includes appearances in ‘Wind River’ (2017) and ‘Sicario: Day of the Soldado’ (2018). In 2018, he began portraying Ryan, a cowboy wrangler, in the Paramount Network drama series ‘Yellowstone’, a role that became a main character from season 4 onwards. He also appeared in ‘Little Women’ (2018) as Freddy Bhaer.
In 2022, Bohen recurred as Lt. Mitch Anderson in ‘Superman & Lois’ for eight episodes. He reprised his role as Peter Hale in ‘Teen Wolf: The Movie’, released in 2023. Most recently, in 2024, he starred as President Edwards in the action thriller ‘Air Force One Down’. Bohen’s career demonstrates a sustained presence in both television and film, encompassing a range of character types across various genres.
