Jackson Heywood

Jackson Heywood was born on July 20, 1988, in Canberra, Australia. He relocated to Sydney at an early age with his mother, Christine, and was raised in coastal areas such as Newport and Narrabeen. After graduating from St Ives High School in 2006, Heywood pursued an acting career, enrolling at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). His professional acting career began shortly after, with early roles in Australian television.

Heywood’s debut came in 2008 when he secured a four-month recurring role as Lachie Cladwell in the Seven Network soap opera *Home and Away*. His first appearance was in May 2009. In 2010, he appeared in the feature film *Vulnerable* and had guest spots in the teen drama series *Dance Academy* and the crime drama series *East West 101*. He then moved to Los Angeles to expand his acting career, where he secured a guest role as Merrick in the MTV series *Teen Wolf* in 2014. His work in the U.S. also included short films *The Answers* and *The Weight of Blood and Bones* in 2015.

Upon returning to Australia, Heywood rejoined *Home and Away* in 2016, taking on the main role of Brody Morgan. He portrayed the character for three years, with his final appearance in June 2019 after choosing to leave the series. Following his departure from *Home and Away*, Heywood continued to work in Australian television and streaming. In 2019, he was cast in the Stan Australia web series *Bloom*, appearing in season 2 in 2020. In 2021, he featured in the FX series *Mr Inbetween*. More recently, Heywood appeared in the SBS series *While the Men Are Away* in 2023 and the Stan Australia series *Critical Incident* in 2024.
