Jackson Heywood is an Australian actor best known for playing the roles of Brody Morgan and Lachie Cladwell in long-running Australian soap opera Home and Away.
Hailing from Canberra, Heywood got his start in acting following his enrollment at the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art. Here, he uncovered a natural talent for performing and was cast in his debut role almost instantly following his graduation.
After graduating, Heywood quickly struck gold when he was cast in a recurring role in the twenty-second season Seven Network’s Home and Away, playing Lachie Cladwell. His character’s story ran for several months, at which point Heywood moved on to other projects. Notably, Heywood starred as Ben in feature film Vulnerable, and appeared in teen favourites Dance Academy and Teen Wolf, playing Merrick in the latter. Additional roles include Abe Wiley in crime series East West 101, Doppelganger in The Answers and Buck Duane in The Weight of Blood and Bones.
Much to the celebration of his Home and Away fans, Heywood returned to Summer Bay in 2016 and was cast in a new role in the twenty-ninth season of the soap opera. Heywood’s new character Brody Morgan, part of a family living in witness protection, played a significant role in that year’s finale. To date, Heywood has appeared in over 300 episodes of Home and Away and has built a dedicated fan base.
Most recently, Heywood was cast in a recurring role as Young Ray in the hotly-anticipated second season of Bloom, a web series from streaming service Stan. Heywood appears as the younger counterpart to Bryan Brown, who plays the modern-day main character, Ray Reed. With a fantastic portfolio under his belt, the future looks bright for Heywood.
