Ian James Corlett

Ian James Corlett is a Canadian voice actor, writer, and author, recognized for bringing numerous animated characters to life and creating popular animated series. After contributing to the music industry in the 1980s by programming drum tracks and assisting with computer sequences for Queensrÿche’s album ‘Operation: Mindcrime,’ Ian James Corlett commenced his entertainment career in 1984, going on to establish a prolific presence as a voice actor, writer, and author. He quickly became a familiar voice in Canadian-produced and dubbed animated series, securing impactful roles throughout the 1990s. Corlett notably voiced Mega Man in the Ruby-Spears’ ‘Mega Man’ series from 1994 to 1995 and Cheetor in the acclaimed ‘Beast Wars: Transformers’ from 1996 to 1999.

In a career-defining role, he became the inaugural English voice for adult Goku in the Ocean dub of ‘Dragon Ball Z’ from 1996 to 1997, leaving an indelible mark on fans globally. Corlett continued to expand his versatile vocal portfolio into the 2000s, lending his talents to characters such as Baby Taz in ‘Baby Looney Tunes’ (2001–2006) and Andy Larkin in ‘What’s with Andy?’ (2001–2007). Demonstrating his creative range beyond voice performance, Corlett originated and produced two successful animated series with Studio B Productions: ‘Yvon of the Yukon,’ which aired from 1999 to 2005, and the semi-autobiographical ‘Being Ian,’ which ran from 2004 to 2008. Most recently, Ian James Corlett showcased his talent in the gaming world by voicing Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in the highly anticipated ‘Marvel Rivals’ in 2024.
