Michael Glasder is an American professional ski jumper who is a member of Team USA and competed in the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
Glasder has been training as a ski jumper since he was just five years old, continuing all the way through his time at Cary Grove High School and DeVry University. As soon as he graduated he started to compete in the World Cup, appearing at tournaments and competitions around the world where he put in a series of impressive performances. After a few years away from the scene from 2010 to 2014, Glasder made a triumphant return, appearing at the World Championships in 2015 and again in 2017 where he placed eighth in the large hill category. In 2018 he made his debut Olympic appearance when he travelled to PyeongChang to represent the USA in the fierce competition. He competed in the large hill, normal hill and the team competitions, placing ninth along with his teammates and cementing his reputation as one of the side’s most consistent jumpers.
Most recently, Glasder has returned to the World Cup, competing in the Continental Cup in 2019 and continuing to train as part of the Norge Ski Club which was voted Club of the Year in the 2021 rankings by US Ski and Snowboard. He’s widely recognised as a valuable asset both at the club and a national level with many years of competition ahead of him.
