Annika Dries

Annika Dries is an Olympic gold medalist in women’s water polo, transitioning from collegiate MVP to a decorated international athlete. After an exceptional collegiate career, Annika Dries established herself as one of the nation’s premier female water polo players at Stanford University, culminating in her recognition as the Peter J. Cutino Award winner in 2011, named the nation’s top collegiate player. Dries made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2010, tying for third on the team with 35 goals and earning spots on both the All-MPSF Third Team and All-Freshman Team, in addition to being a two-time MPSF Newcomer of the Week in February and April.

In 2012, she took a leave of absence from Stanford to train full-time with the U.S. National Water Polo Team, focusing on her Olympic aspirations. Dries seamlessly transitioned her formidable collegiate dominance to the international stage, consistently securing top honors for the United States National Water Polo Team. In 2010, she was instrumental in leading the U.S.

Following this monumental success, Dries continued her commitment to elite international competition, proudly representing her country by participating in the water polo world championships in 2013.
