Ingo Rademacher was born on April 22, 1971, in Iserlohn-Letmathe, West Germany. As a child, he moved to Australia and grew up on a 400-acre cattle and Angora goat station. His early life included developing a passion for water sports, participating in Hobie cat racing, and becoming a lifeguard in Australia at age 16. His professional career began in modeling in Brisbane and Sydney before transitioning into acting.
Rademacher’s acting career started in 1993 with a role as Sean Hayden on the Australian series “Paradise Beach.” He moved to Los Angeles in 1994, where he quickly secured the role of Jax on ABC’s “General Hospital.” This role became a significant part of his career, spanning multiple stints from 1996 to 2013, and then again from 2016 to 2021, totaling 1338 episodes. During a one-year break from “General Hospital” between 2000 and 2001, he appeared in “Titans” as David O’Connor, showcasing his versatility in network television roles.
Beyond his soap opera work, Rademacher has expanded his career into other television and film projects. He appeared in comedies such as “Veronica’s Closet,” “According to Jim,” and “Clueless.” In 2012, he was featured on the big screen in the film “Alex Cross.” In 2013, he participated in “Dancing With The Stars,” reaching the semi-finals. He also held a recurring role as Robert Coughlin on CBS’s “Hawaii Five-O” from 2011 to 2017 and appeared in the STARZ series “Counterpart” in 2018. From 2017 to 2019, he took on the role of Thorne Forrester in “The Bold and the Beautiful” before returning to “General Hospital.” Rademacher is also co-founder of Mahiku activewear Hawaii.
