Isaac Caldiero

Isaac Caldiero, born on March 2, 1982, in Salt Lake City, Utah, has built a career around his passion for rock climbing and competitive athleticism. Early in his life, at the age of 15, Caldiero discovered rock climbing, a pursuit that quickly became a central part of his identity. He further specialized in bouldering starting at 17, particularly excelling in highball bouldering. Beyond his athletic endeavors, Caldiero has also worked as a carpenter and busboy, maintaining a grounded lifestyle despite his significant achievements in the sports world. His background in these demanding physical activities laid the foundation for his later success.

Caldiero gained national recognition through his participation in the television series *American Ninja Warrior*. His journey on the show began in season five, progressing through challenging courses and demonstrating consistent improvement across multiple seasons. A pivotal moment in his career came in season seven when he, alongside Geoff Britten, achieved what is known as “Total Victory” by completing all four stages of the National Finals course. Caldiero’s faster finish time secured him the million-dollar cash prize and the official title of the first “American Ninja Warrior” champion. This achievement marked a significant milestone, solidifying his status in the world of obstacle course racing.

Following his win, Caldiero took a hiatus from competitive *American Ninja Warrior* seasons, returning as a spokesman for the series and its sponsor, POM Wonderful. In 2017, he made an appearance in the celebrity special for *Ninja Warrior Germany*, and by April 2018, he announced his return to *American Ninja Warrior* for season ten. Although he qualified through the city course, his run in the Indianapolis city finals ended early, preventing him from advancing to the National Finals. Caldiero continues to be involved in the ninja and climbing communities, helping to develop Ninja Warrior gyms and advocating for the sport.
