Isaac Haxton

Isaac Haxton was born on September 6, 1985, and raised in Syracuse, New York. His early exposure to games of skill, introduced by his English professor father, included chess at age four and Magic: The Gathering by age ten. He later attended Brown University, initially studying computer science, but developed a strong interest in poker. He shifted his focus to the game, eventually completing a degree in Philosophy. This background in analytical thinking and strategic gaming laid the groundwork for his professional poker career.

Haxton transitioned to poker after turning 18, beginning in $3/$6 limit games at Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York. He later moved to online poker with a modest $50 deposit on Ultimate Bet. His career quickly gained momentum in 2007 when he secured a runner-up finish at the WPT Championship Event, earning $861,789. Haxton has consistently demonstrated his skill in high-stakes environments, achieving multiple significant victories. Notably, he won Event #4: $10,000 Short Deck at the 2018 Poker Masters for $176,000 and the Super High Roller Bowl V in December 2018, securing $3,672,000. These wins solidified his reputation as a formidable player in the high-roller circuit.

His success continued into 2023, marking a period of substantial achievement. Haxton won the 2023 PokerGO Cup $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em finale for $598,000 and the 2023 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $100,000 PCA Super High Roller for $1,082,230. He further attained his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet in June 2023, winning the $25,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed event for $1,698,215. In September of the same year, he won The Super High Roller Bowl VIII, collecting over $2.7 million. His live tournament earnings for 2023 exceeded $16 million, making him the highest earner in poker for that year. As of May 2024, his total live tournament winnings surpass $48,000,000.
