Leo Margets

Leonor Margets Perez was born on August 10, 1983, in Barcelona, Spain. Prior to her professional poker career, Margets pursued her education at the University of Roehampton in London, where she earned a master’s degree in Communication Business Management. Her early career included work at IMG. Margets developed an interest in poker, which gradually transitioned into a full-time profession, marking a significant shift from her initial corporate background.

Margets’ poker career gained international attention in 2009 when she finished 27th in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, establishing her presence on the global poker scene. She continued to achieve notable results, including a runner-up finish in the $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold’em event at the 2018 WSOP. A major career highlight occurred in 2021 when she secured her first WSOP bracelet in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Closer event, defeating a field of 1,903 players to win $376,000. This win made her the last woman to win an open-field event at the WSOP in Las Vegas as of 2025.

In 2025, Margets made history by reaching the final table of the WSOP Main Event, navigating through a field of 9,735 participants. She became only the second woman in WSOP history, and the first in 30 years since Barbara Enright in 1995, to achieve this feat. Starting in fifth position at the final table, she ultimately finished in seventh place, earning $1,500,000, which stands as the largest score by a woman in the Main Event. Beyond poker, Margets participated in the Spanish reality TV shows “Supervivientes” in 2014 and won “The Traitors” in 2023. She also published a book titled “Play Your Cards Well” in 2017 and has completed 10 marathons, demonstrating her diverse interests and competitive drive.
