In 2015, at the Youth World Championships held in Medemblik, Maenhaut clinched the bronze medal, marking her emergence as a formidable force in the sailing community. Undeterred by challenges, she continued to hone her skills, dominating the Laser Radial category and earning the prestigious title of Belgian champion.

Maenhaut’s prowess expanded to two-person competitions when she teamed up with Henri Demesmaeker, showcasing exceptional teamwork and coordination. Their collaboration reached a pinnacle at the 2016 Youth World Championships in Auckland, where they secured the bronze medal, solidifying their status as a dynamic duo on the water.

The pinnacle of Maenhaut’s career came at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, where she competed in the highly competitive 49 FX class alongside Anouk Geurts.
