Ivan Perišić was born on February 2, 1989, in Split, Socialist Republic of Croatia, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. His early life involved working on his father’s poultry farm in Omiš. He began his football journey in the youth ranks of Hajduk Split from 1995 to 2006, followed by a period at Sochaux from 2006 to 2007. Perišić then advanced to senior career playing for Sochaux II and a loan spell at Roeselare before joining Club Brugge in 2009. His performance at Club Brugge brought him significant recognition, where he became the Belgian Pro League top goalscorer and was named Belgian Footballer of the Year in 2011, establishing him as a prominent talent in European football.
His career continued with transfers to major European clubs, showcasing his consistent performance and adaptability across different leagues. He played for Borussia Dortmund from 2011 to 2013, winning the 2011–12 Bundesliga title. Following this, he moved to VfL Wolfsburg (2013–2015), where he secured the 2015 DFB-Pokal. His tenure at Inter Milan (2015–2022) marked further success, including winning the 2020–21 Serie A title. During a loan spell at Bayern Munich (2019–2020), Perišić achieved a treble, winning the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and UEFA Champions League.
