Jade Catta-Preta

Jade Catta-Preta is a Brazilian-born comedian and actress recognized for her hosting roles on “The Soup” and “Hotties,” as well as her stand-up comedy performed in both English and Portuguese. After hosting the show Secret Lives from 2004-2005, Jade Catta-Preta went on to graduate from Emerson College in 2007, where she majored in musical theater. Following her graduation, Catta-Preta moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career and quickly established herself in the stand-up comedy scene. She began performing regularly at The Comedy Store, showcasing her versatility by delivering sets in both English and Portuguese across the country, and also hosted National Lampoon.

Catta-Preta built a robust television resume, including a series regular role on ABC’s Manhattan Love Story. She also secured recurring roles across multiple networks and streaming platforms, appearing on Showtime’s Californication, ABC’s American Housewife, Hulu’s Future Man, TruTv’s Those Who Can’t, and PopTV’s The Joey Mac Project. Her extensive acting credits further include guest appearances on CBS’s Life in Pieces, NBC’s Modern Family, and CBS’s 2 Broke Girls. Catta-Preta also became a familiar face in reality television, holding series regular positions on MTV’s Girl Code, Punk’d, and Ladylike, as well as VH1’s Flashback Friday and TruTV’s Greatest Ever.

Demonstrating her comedic and critical acumen, she competed on TruTV’s Comedy Knockout and Comedy Central’s @Midnight, and served as a guest judge on Netflix’s Cooking with Cannabis. In 2020, Catta-Preta was selected to host the revival of E! Network’s acclaimed commentary series, The Soup. She continued her hosting success in 2022, leading Hulu’s unique dating show Hotties, which challenges contestants in a spicy food competition.

Also in 2022, Catta-Preta debuted her highly anticipated first stand-up special, jaded., which was filmed at the Helium Comedy Club in Philadelphia and subsequently released by Helium Comedy Studios on YouTube.
