Jahvon Quinerly

Jahvon Quinerly was born on November 25, 1998, in Hackensack, New Jersey. He attended Hudson Catholic Regional High School in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he was a highly regarded recruit. In his final two high school seasons, Quinerly earned back-to-back Gatorade New Jersey Boys Basketball Player of the Year honors. His performance led to his selection for the 2018 McDonald’s All-American Boys Game, where he competed against other top high school talents. He initially committed to Arizona, but reopened his recruitment in October 2017 following federal investigations into the team’s assistant coach. He later committed to Villanova on February 14, 2018.

Quinerly began his college career with the Villanova Wildcats during the 2018-2019 season. In his freshman year, he appeared in 25 games, averaging 3.2 points in 9.1 minutes per game. Following this season, he transferred to the University of Alabama, where he sat out the 2019-2020 season due to transfer rules. His debut with Alabama came on November 25, 2020, where he contributed 18 points, one rebound, and three assists in a victory over Jacksonville State. He played a significant role in the team’s success, notably earning the SEC tournament MVP title in 2021 after leading Alabama to the championship.

During his time at Alabama, Quinerly’s statistics improved, averaging 12.9 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game in the 2020-21 season, and 13.8 points, 4.2 assists, and 3.0 rebounds in the 2021-22 season. He suffered a knee injury during the 2022 NCAA tournament. In June 2023, Quinerly entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer, subsequently committing to play for the Memphis Tigers on July 13, 2023, for the 2023-2024 season. He is also known for being a co-creator and member of the “Jelly Fam” basketball collective, recognized for its flashy finger roll layups.
