Jai Rodriguez

Jai Rodriguez is an Emmy Award-winning television host and actor known for his diverse roles in Broadway, television, and film, and for advocating for LGBTQ+ causes. After being cast as Angel in the highly acclaimed Broadway musical RENT in 1997, Jai Rodriguez established himself as a versatile performer across Broadway, television, and film. He continued his presence in Broadway productions including The Producers and Spinning Into Butter, and originated the titular role of Zanna in the Off-Broadway production Zanna, Don’t!. Concurrently, Rodriguez became a prominent figure in the New York City nightlife scene with his long-running ‘Twisted Cabaret’ concert series, which successfully ran for three consecutive years at Club XL.

Rodriguez also made a notable appearance in Lady Gaga’s ‘Telephone’ music video in 2010 and co-created and co-executive produced LOGO’s Bad Sex. Transitioning into dramatic television, Rodriguez appeared in series such as NBC’s Harry’s Law, ABC’s Detroit 187, and Days Of Our Lives. He recurred as Tom, Wayne Brady’s husband, on CBS’s How I Met Your Mother in 2011 and 2014, and made guest appearances on NBC’s Are You There Chelsea? and FOX’s Bones.

Most recently, Rodriguez starred in the 2022 feature film Bros, recognized as the first major motion picture to feature an all LGBTQ+ cast. He also played a pivotal role in launching and hosting ‘Channel Q’, the first coast-to-coast LGBTQ+ FM radio station. Beyond his extensive entertainment career, Rodriguez is a passionate advocate, supporting organizations such as the NOH8 Campaign, Aids Walk, Project Angel Food, and The Trevor Project, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to social causes.
