American actor, singer and dancer, Celia Rose Gooding is an award-winning performer who is best known for her show-stopping Broadway performances.
As the daughter of the Tony Award-winning Broadway performer LaChanze, it is no surprise that from the age of eight, Gooding had big plans to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a professional performer. Having studied acting and film at the prestigious Berridge Conservatory in France, dance at the Alvin Ailey Institute and musical theatre at the Pace University in New York City, Gooding has gone on to enjoy a successful start to her career in the performing arts scene. Amongst her many roles, Gooding has enjoyed performing as Carmen Diaz in The Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy’s production of the classic musical Fame, along with Penelope Pennywise in the satirical musical comedy Urinetown. More recently, Gooding has been dubbed Broadway’s newest star, following her debut in the leading role of Frankie Healy, alongside the cast of the rock musical Jagged Little Pill. Following the production’s premiere during 2018 at the Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the show went on to win an array of awards. In 2019 it arrived on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre.
Gooding’s exceptional performance as part of Jagged Little Pill has since seen her win a prestigious Antonyo Award as Best Featured Actor in a Musical On Broadway.
