Born in London in 1978, James Alexander Ellis began weight training at the age of 18, driven by a desire to improve his physique. He continued training intermittently, seeing initial progress with a limited home setup. After completing university and starting a career as an architect, James found himself unfulfilled. At 25, he returned to serious training, hiring a personal trainer and establishing a consistent morning workout routine before work. This period marked a significant turning point in his life, leading him to develop a structured approach to fitness.
His dedication to bodybuilding quickly yielded results. Within two years of renewed focus, James won his first competition. This achievement propelled him into the competitive fitness world, where he earned a Pro card with the WBFF. In 2012, he was recognized as “The Body of 2012” on a popular YouTube channel. This recognition, coupled with messages from people worldwide finding inspiration in his journey, solidified his commitment to the fitness industry. He made the decision to leave his architectural career to pursue his passion full-time, becoming a personal trainer and strength coach.
Throughout his career, James has consistently competed in WBFF shows, achieving multiple top placements. His competitive history includes winning the Bodypower’s USN “Best Body” in Birmingham in 2011, securing a gold medal at the NIFMA Open Class in Belfast the same year, and winning the Miami Pro UK Championships “Muscle Model” in London in 2012. He then achieved a significant milestone by placing 1st in the Male Fitness Model category at WBFF/Fitness Atlantic in Connecticut, USA, earning his Pro card in 2012. He continued to demonstrate competitive excellence, placing 7th at the WBFF World Championships 2012 “Pro Fitness Model,” 5th at the WBFF World Championships 2013 “Pro Muscle Model,” and 3rd at both the WBFF European Championships and the WBFF World Championships in 2015 for “Pro Muscle Model.”
