James Tupper

James Tupper gained prominence for his role as Jack Slattery in the ABC series ‘Men in Trees,’ appearing in all 36 episodes from 2006 to 2008. Prior to this, Tupper built a strong foundation in theater, featuring in successful off-Broadway productions such as ‘An Actor Prepares’ and ‘After the Rain.’ His transition to film included appearances in ‘Joe Dirt’ and ‘Corky Romano’ in 2001, followed by a co-writing and acting credit in the 2005 independent film ‘Loudmouth Soup,’ an experimental feature filmed in a single night without a script. Tupper holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University and a Master of Fine Arts from Rutgers University, grounding his diverse career. Following his breakthrough, Tupper continued to secure significant television roles.

From 2017 to 2019, he held a supporting role as Nathan Carlson in the critically acclaimed HBO series ‘Big Little Lies,’ which garnered widespread recognition. Demonstrating a consistent presence across two decades, Tupper continued to expand his repertoire with a main role as Fenton Hardy in ‘The Hardy Boys’ in 2020. His recent film work includes ‘The Requin,’ released in 2022, further solidifying his diverse and active career in both major network television and feature films.
