Danny Ramirez was born on September 17, 1992, in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Miami, Florida. Of Colombian and Mexican descent, he initially pursued athletics, playing American football and soccer. After sustaining injuries, he shifted his focus to acting, enrolling in the New York University Tisch School of the Arts. Ramirez began his acting career with minor roles in television in 2016, appearing in Showtime’s “The Affair” and NBC’s “Blindspot.” His early career progression included a recurring role as Wes in Fox’s “The Gifted” (2017) and a guest appearance in “Orange Is the New Black” (2017). From 2018 to 2019, he had a recurring role on Netflix’s “On My Block.” Ramirez made his film debut in Sam Levinson’s “Assassination Nation” (2018), which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
Ramirez’s career gained significant momentum with his involvement in large-scale productions. In August 2018, it was announced he would join the cast of “Top Gun: Maverick,” a film that faced several delays but was eventually released in May 2022.
