Fresh off the set of the biographical musical
Rocketman, where he stunned audiences with a captivating portrayal of Elton
John’s musical sidekick Bernie Taupin, the showbiz world is once again obsessed
with all things Jamie Bell. The actor first appeared on the big screen in 2000,
starring in the iconic ballet-themed movie Billy Elliot. His inspirational
performance landed him a BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Bell
subsequently starred in King Kong and Jumper before playing the part of Tintin
in 2011’s The Adventures of Tintin alongside Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Proving
himself to be extremely versatile, Bell then starred in period dramas The Eagle
and the 2011 remake of Charlotte Bronte’s classic: Jane Eyre.
Always one to relish a challenge, Bell played the
impish and mischievous Edgar in Bong Joon-ho’s epic sci-fi thriller Snowpiercer,
improvising much of the performance to widespread critical acclaim. In 2015
Bell reprised the role of Ben Grimm in Josh Trank’s Marvel superhero thriller Fantastic
Four. In addition to starring in Hollywood blockbusters, Bell has also enjoyed
success on the small screen, playing the part of Abraham Woodhull in the
American period drama Washington Spies: The Story of America’s First Spy Ring.
Bell has also starred in the video for Green Day’s era-defining hit Single,
‘Wake Me Up When September Ends’. After the worldwide success of Rocketman, there’s
no telling where Jamie Bell’s career will go next.
