Jamie Dalgado

Jamie Delgado, born on March 21, 1977, in Birmingham, England, embarked on a professional tennis career in 1995. During his playing career, Delgado represented Great Britain in the Davis Cup and achieved a career-high singles rank of No. 121 in August 2001. He holds the record for playing in the most consecutive Wimbledon tournaments for a male player, with 23 appearances. Although primarily a doubles specialist in the later part of his career, he won three ATP Challenger Tour singles titles and 16 doubles titles. His doubles success included reaching the third round of the US Open in 2011 and 2012, and the third round of Wimbledon in 2006 and 2009. He also made it to two ATP Tour event finals in 2012, at the Aegon International and the Farmers Classic.

Following his retirement as a player in September 2014, Delgado transitioned into coaching, a role where he has achieved significant milestones. His coaching journey began with Gilles Müller, whom he helped climb back into the top 50 rankings after injury. In May 2016, Delgado joined Andy Murray’s coaching team as an assistant. During this period, he contributed to Murray’s 2016 Wimbledon Championships title, his ascent to the year-end world No. 1 ranking, and victories at the 2016 ATP World Tour Finals, 2017 Dubai Tennis Championships, and 2019 European Open. His coaching expertise has since been sought by other notable players.

Delgado has continued to make an impact in the coaching world, working with Denis Shapovalov. Most recently, he served as the lead coach for Jack Draper, contributing to Draper’s achievements including three ATP Tour titles, a Masters 1000 crown, and a semifinal appearance at the US Open in 2024, helping him reach a career-high rank of fourth. He is currently coaching Grigor Dimitrov. His extensive experience as both a player and a coach has cemented his reputation as an invaluable figure in professional tennis.
