Steven Cook was born on December 10, 1984, in Boise, Idaho. He grew up participating in various sports, including wrestling, reflecting an early engagement with physical activity. He attended Dixie State University, which is now Utah Tech University, where he played as a linebacker for the NCAA Division II Dixie State Trailblazers football team. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Studies, with a focus on biology and psychology. Following his college career, Cook worked as a waiter at Texas Roadhouse.
Cook’s entry into professional bodybuilding began after winning the Muscle & Fitness Male Model Search during Mr. Olympia weekend in 2010. This victory propelled him into the fitness media landscape, leading to roles as a spokesmodel for Bodybuilding.com and Optimum Nutrition. Throughout his career, he has achieved notable competitive successes, including winning the Gold’s Classic Treasure Valley Natural Bodybuilding Championship and the Fit Body Competition organized by Bodybuilding.com. In 2011, he further cemented his competitive standing by winning the Naturally Bodybuilding Championship hosted by NPC Iron Man magazine and an NPC Junior National Championship. He is a two-time winner of the IFBB Houston Pro, securing titles in 2012 and 2014, and has earned two top-ten finishes at Mr. Olympia in 2013 and 2014.
Beyond competitive bodybuilding, Cook has expanded his career into broader entrepreneurial and media ventures. He is a co-owner of Fitness Culture, a fitness app, and a gym located in St. George, Utah.
