Jamie Neushul

Jamie Neushul was born on May 12, 1995, in Goleta, California. She developed an early interest in water polo, a sport with strong family ties, as both her parents played at UC Santa Barbara and her mother became a water polo coach. Neushul attended Dos Pueblos High School, where she excelled, leading her team to CIF Southern Section Division I titles in 2010 and 2011. During her high school career, she was recognized as a three-time First Team All-CIF Southern Section Division I selection from 2011-2013 and a four-time First Team All-Channel League honoree. She also honed her skills with the Santa Barbara Water Polo Club from 2005-2013, contributing to Junior Olympics titles at the 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U levels, and earning Junior Olympics MVP awards in 2009 (14U) and 2011 (16U). These early achievements established a strong foundation for her collegiate and international career.

Neushul continued her water polo career at Stanford University, where she earned four All-American honors and was instrumental in leading the team to three NCAA Championships in 2014, 2015, and 2017. Her collegiate performance included being named to the All-NCAA Tournament Second Team in 2017 and First Team in 2016, along with multiple All-MPSF selections and academic accolades. She captained Team USA at the 2015 FINA Junior World Championships in Volos, Greece, where she led the squad to a Gold medal, scoring 14 goals throughout the tournament. This initial international success marked a significant turning point, propelling her into the senior national team pipeline alongside her older sister, Kiley, who is also an Olympic Gold Medalist. Her consistent performance at both the collegiate and junior international levels demonstrated her commitment and skill in the sport.

Jamie Neushul represented the United States at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, where she earned a Gold medal, scoring one goal. Her international career is marked by numerous gold medals, including at the 2017 FINA World Championships in Budapest, the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, and multiple FINA World League Super Finals and Intercontinental Tournaments. In 2019, she played professionally for UVSE in Budapest, Hungary, contributing to their Hungarian League Championship victory. Neushul’s career is distinguished by her consistent high-level performance, leadership roles, and a track record of winning championships across collegiate, junior, and senior international competitions, solidifying her status as a decorated water polo athlete.
