Former Americal Idol contestant and solo singer, Janelle Arthur, has been paving her own way in the music industry since her appearance on the show. After competing on season 12 of American Idol in 2013 and coming fifth, she found her own way to success, releasing her most recent single, White Horse, in 2020.
Prior to American Idol, Arthur was leading an ordinary life, working as a Zumba instructor. However, she had a taste of stardom at a young age when she performed as Young Dolly in a Dollywood show when she was only eight. After meeting Dolly Parton herself, she was inspired to pursue her own musical career.
American Idol became a stepping stone in her success. She auditioned several times before making it past the auditions stage, but when she managed this in 2013, she made it all the way to the semi-finals. After placing fifth in the show, she left her American Idol dream behind.
However, since leaving the show, her career has been steady and exciting. She released several EPs and singles with other artists, as well as starring in the 2018 film, Runnin’ From My Roots. Now, she has decided to release music independently and in 2020, she released her single, White Horse. With over forty thousand Twitter fans and several thousand Youtube subscribers, her indie music career is sure to kick off.
