One of the National Hockey League (NHL)’s most exciting, must-see players, Jason Robertson is a driving force behind the Dallas Stars. Nicknamed “Robo Cop”, Robertson is one of the most skilled players in the NHL with a long list of creative goals, and he can score from almost anywhere in the offensive zone. An elite possession driver, he earned the second highest total by a rookie in the history of Dallas Stars in 2020-21 (45 points in 51 games), and earned a nomination for the coveted Calder Memorial Trophy. Selected 39th overall by the Stars in the second round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Robertson has represented the United States twice on the international stage, winning a silver medal at the 2019 World Junior Championship and following up with a bronze at the 2021 IIHF World Championship.
Born in Arcadia, California, the 6-foot-3 hockey phenomenon moved to Northville, Michigan to increase his opportunities for playing ice hockey when he was ten years old. After playing for minor ice hockey teams in Michigan including Detroit Kings and Little Caesors, he was drafted by the Ontario Hockey League (OHL)’s Kingston Frontecnacs in 2015. Robertson wasted no time making an impact in the OHL and scored 18 goals in his first season, the most of any rookie since the legendary Anthony Stewart. The hockey ace won the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy after being traded to the Niagara IceDogs during the 2018–19 OHL season, and joined the Dallas Stars for the 2019-20 season. After becoming the Calder Memorial Trophy runner up, he continued his offensive production the next season and became the first player in the history of the stars to record a hat-trick in consecutive games.
