Jay Hilda Aston carved her place in British pop history as a singer and occasional songwriter, making her mark as a member of the pop group Bucks Fizz. Stepping into the spotlight early in her journey, she achieved monumental success when the group won the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest at just 19 years old, standing as the youngest member of the original line-up.
During her initial tenure with Bucks Fizz from 1981 to 1985, she contributed to a prolific run of chart success. The group secured 12 of their 13 UK top 40 hit singles during this period, which included three number one hits that cemented their place in British pop culture.
Continuing her musical journey, she reunited with fellow original members Cheryl Baker and Mike Nolan in 2009. Performing initially under the name the Original Bucks Fizz before transitioning to simply the Fizz, the group has carried forward their musical legacy to contemporary audiences.
