British-American actress, Jayne Atkinson is a world renowned actress known for her political, espionage, and criminal roles on television and critically acclaimed feature films. She is best known for Free Willy as Annie Greenwood, The Village as Tabitha Walker, House of Cards as Catherine Durant and much more.
Atkinson made her credited debut in 1986 on television mini-series, A Year in the Life where she played Lindley Gardner Eisenberg. The mini-series one a Primetime Emmy and the fans adored the mini-series so much that they made it into a regular series. Atkinson received the same role on the regulated series of the same name from 1987 to 1988. This pushed her to the next level of her career and she landed her next recurring role as Karen Buckman in Parenthood from 1990 to 1991. She achieved 12 episodes on the series. 2 years after Atkinson acquired her debut feature film, Free Willy, the role of Annie Greenwood. After her premiere on the award-winning film, she continued to star in big name television shows and films, such as The X-Files, The Practice, The Village, and Joan of Arcadia.
In 2006 she landed her biggest recurring role as Karen Hayes on the dual Golden Globe winner, 24. Atkinson starred in 30 episodes on the hit series. From 2013 to 2018, she secured her longest running role as Catherine Durant on dual Golden Globe winning series, House of Cards, where she can be seen in 38 episodes.
