United States Jenny Han is a New York Times bestselling author who has successfully transitioned her acclaimed young adult novels into popular film and television series, serving as a creator, writer, and executive producer for major streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. She is known for her contributions to and adaptations of works such as the "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" series and "The Summer I Turned Pretty" series.
Amazon Prime worked with Han to adapt The Summer I Turned Pretty into a TV series. In 2022, Han launched her production company, Jenny Kissed Me, after signing a multiyear overall deal with Amazon Prime Video/Amazon Studios. This deal enables her to develop and produce television and film projects for the studio.
Han was an executive producer on the Netflix adaptations of her To All the Boys I've Loved Before trilogy. She also created and is an executive producer for XO, Kitty, a spin-off series, which was released on Netflix.

Jenny Han was born on September 3, 1980, in Richmond, Virginia, to Korean-American parents. She pursued her education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her Bachelor of Arts and later earned her Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from The New School in 2006. Her career as an author began with the publication of her first children’s novel, “Shug,” in 2006, which focused on a twelve-year-old navigating junior high. This early work laid the foundation for her subsequent success within the young adult fiction genre.
Following “Shug,” Han developed “The Summer I Turned Pretty” trilogy, published between 2009 and 2011, which quickly achieved New York Times bestseller status. This series explores a protagonist’s coming-of-age and romantic experiences during summer breaks. Later, in 2014, she released “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,” a young adult romance novel that gained significant popularity and was optioned for a screen adaptation shortly after its publication. The success of this novel led to a trilogy, with sequels “P.S. I Still Love You” (2015) and “Always and Forever, Lara Jean” (2017).
Han’s career saw a significant expansion into film and television adaptations of her novels. She executive-produced the Netflix film adaptations of the “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” series, released in 2018, 2020, and 2021. Further demonstrating her involvement behind the scenes, she created, co-showran, and executive produced “The Summer I Turned Pretty” series for Amazon Prime Video, which premiered in 2022. In 2022, she established her production company, Jenny Kissed Me, and secured a multiyear overall deal with Amazon Prime Video to develop and produce new projects. This was followed by the creation and executive production of “XO, Kitty,” a “To All the Boys” spinoff series, which debuted on Netflix in 2023.
