Jesse Corti appeared in both English-language and Spanish-language public service announcements for Partnership for a Drug-Free America after his first wife was killed in a train collision caused by a drug-impaired train crew.
Jesse Corti was born on July 3, 1955, in Venezuela. He later moved to Paterson, New Jersey, where he was raised. Corti has built a career as an actor and theater director, with significant contributions across various media. His early career included Broadway performances, notably playing Courfeyrac in the original Broadway production of “Les Misérables.” This theatrical background established a foundation for his diverse acting roles that would follow.
Corti’s career progressed into film and television, where he has appeared in many productions. His voice acting work has been a notable part of his career, featuring in several prominent animated films and video games. He is recognized for voicing LeFou in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” (1991), the Spanish Dignitary in “Frozen” (2013), and Mr. Manchas in “Zootopia” (2016). His versatility in voice work extends to video games, including “Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater” (2004) and “Death Stranding” (2019).
Beyond his acting, Corti is also a theater director, having directed various stage productions in Los Angeles. He received a Clio Award in 1990 for his work on a Drug Free America commercial, highlighting his involvement in public service initiatives. Corti has maintained a consistent presence in the entertainment industry, contributing to both on-screen and voice performances over several decades.
