Jesse Plemons

Jesse Lon Plemons, born on April 2, 1988, in Dallas, Texas, began his career as a child actor, first appearing in a Coca-Cola commercial at age three. He spent his early years in Mart, Texas, and Los Angeles, balancing school and auditions. His early work included minor roles in films such as “Varsity Blues” (1999) and “All the Pretty Horses” (2000), as well as guest spots on TV shows like “Walker, Texas Ranger” and “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.” These initial experiences laid the groundwork for his developing acting career.

Plemons achieved a significant breakthrough with his role as Landry Clarke in the NBC drama series “Friday Night Lights” (2006-2011). Following this, he gained wider recognition for his portrayal of Todd Alquist in the fifth season of the AMC crime drama series “Breaking Bad” (2012-2013) and its sequel film “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie” (2019). His performance as Ed Blumquist in the second season of the FX anthology series “Fargo” (2015) earned him his first Primetime Emmy Award nomination and a Critics’ Choice Television Award. He later received a second Emmy nomination for his role as Robert Daly in the “USS Callister” episode of “Black Mirror” (2017).

Throughout his career, Plemons has taken on diverse supporting roles in critically acclaimed films including “The Master” (2012), “Bridge of Spies” (2015), “The Irishman” (2019), “Judas and the Black Messiah” (2021), “Jungle Cruise” (2021), and “The Power of the Dog” (2021). His notable lead performance in “I’m Thinking of Ending Things” (2020) garnered critical praise. For “The Power of the Dog,” he received a BAFTA Award nomination and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. In 2024, he was recognized with the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor for his work in “Kinds of Kindness.” He is married to actress Kirsten Dunst, whom he met on the set of “Fargo.”
