As the founder and inaugural president of the National Organization of Legal Services Workers (NOLSW), a UAW-affiliated union, Jim Braude forged a distinguished early career in legal advocacy. Through NOLSW, he represented staff in civil legal offices across 35 states, playing a critical role in preserving the national program amidst proposals for its abolition. Prior to this, Mr. Braude championed housing and prisoner’s rights cases in the South Bronx, New York City, demonstrating his steadfast commitment to social justice.

His profound expertise later saw him appointed Executive Editor and Host of WGBH News’ flagship local television news and analysis program, ‘Greater Boston,’ in 2015, succeeding Emily Rooney. He skillfully guided the program until his departure in December 2022, solidifying his reputation as a trusted voice in Boston’s media landscape.
