Jim Jackson

James “Jim” Arthur Jackson was born on October 14, 1970, in Toledo, Ohio. His basketball aptitude was evident early, as he led Macomber High School to the 1989 Division I state championship. During his collegiate career at Ohio State, from 1989 to 1992, he immediately made an impact, averaging 16.1 points and 5.5 rebounds as a freshman. He achieved consensus First Team All-American honors in both 1991 and 1992, was twice named UPI college basketball Player of the Year, and secured the Big Ten Championship in 1992. His number 22 jersey was retired by Ohio State in February 2001, underscoring his significant college legacy.

Jackson entered the NBA as the fourth overall pick in the 1992 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks. His rookie season was abbreviated due to a contract dispute. However, he quickly established himself, starting all 82 games in his second season and averaging 19.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists. During the 1994-95 season, he scored a career-high 25.7 points per game, ranking fifth in the NBA in scoring before an ankle injury curtailed his season after 51 games. Over his 14-year NBA career, Jackson played for a record-tying 12 different teams, a testament to his durable and versatile play. He consistently contributed across various rosters, showcasing his adaptability.

Following his NBA career, Jackson transitioned into broadcasting and business. He became a basketball analyst for Fox Sports, Turner Sports, and the Los Angeles Clippers on Bally Sports West. He also contributed as an analyst for the NBA Playoffs on NBATV. Beyond sports analysis, Jackson branched into the business world, becoming a managing partner at Adaris Capital Partners.
