Jamario Moon

Jamario Raman Moon was born on June 13, 1980. He began his basketball journey attending Coosa Central High School and then Meridian Community College, where he played one season in 1999–2000, averaging 20.8 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Following his college career, Moon gained extensive experience across various leagues, including the United States Basketball League, NBA Development League, and international teams. This period included playing for the Mobile Revelers, Dodge City Legend, Huntsville Flight, Kentucky Colonels, Rome Gladiators, Albany Patroons, Fort Worth Flyers, Marietta Storm, Fuerza Regia, and Gary Steelheads. Notably, he also played for the Harlem Globetrotters in 2004 and helped the Rome Gladiators win the 2005 World Basketball Association (WBA) championship.

Moon’s NBA career began when he signed a two-year deal with the Toronto Raptors on July 10, 2007. He quickly made an impact, earning the NBA Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month award in February 2008. During his time with the Raptors, he participated in the 2008 NBA All-Star Weekend, competing in the Rookie/Sophomore Challenge and the Slam Dunk Contest. His NBA career included stints with the Miami Heat (2009), Cleveland Cavaliers (2009–2011), Los Angeles Clippers (2011), and Charlotte Bobcats (2012). Across his 286 regular season games, he averaged 6.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game, demonstrating his contributions as a versatile forward.

After his NBA tenure, Moon returned to the D-League with the Los Angeles D-Fenders and played internationally for teams like Olympiacos B.C. in Greece, and Guaros de Lara in Venezuela. He also had multiple stints with the Albany Patroons and played in The Basketball Tournament on ESPN. While his journey involved several teams and leagues, Moon consistently displayed his athleticism and defensive capabilities throughout his 21-year professional playing career.
