Jimmy Dore

Born on July 26, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois, James Patrick Anthony Dore began his stand-up comedy career in 1989. After moving to Los Angeles in 1995, he gained early recognition with an appearance on Comedy Central’s ‘Make Me Laugh’. His early career included performances on late-night talk shows such as ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, ‘The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn’, and ‘Late Friday’. In 2004, he received a ‘Comedy Central Presents’ half-hour special. Concurrently, he was a writer and performer for the off-Broadway show ‘The Marijuana-Logues’ in New York City and performed at various prestigious comedy festivals and clubs globally, including Just for Laughs in Montreal and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. By 2005, Dore began integrating political commentary into his performances, developing a 50-minute show, ‘Citizen Jimmy’, which was later broadcast as an hour-long special on Comedy Central in 2008 and critically acclaimed as ‘Best of 2008’ by iTunes.

In 2009, Dore expanded his reach by launching ‘The Jimmy Dore Show’ as a weekly radio program on KPFK 90.7 FM in Los Angeles, which was also nationally syndicated on the Pacifica Radio Network until 2021.
