Jimmy Ma

Born on October 11, 1995, in Queens, New York, Jimmy Ma began his figure skating journey in 2004. He trained at the Parkwood Sports Complex and Chelsea Piers in Great Neck, New York. Ma made his international junior debut at the ISU Junior Grand Prix in Riga, Latvia, in August 2013, where he placed 13th. His early career saw him coached by notable figures such as Elaine Zayak, Steven Rice, and Hongyun Liu, laying the foundation for his professional career.

Ma transitioned to senior-level competitions, participating in nine U.S. national championships. He achieved his highest national result, fifth place, in 2023. His international senior career includes a bronze medal at the 2025 Four Continents Championships, a bronze medal at the 2021 Golden Spin of Zagreb, and a bronze medal at the 2018 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic. He also secured silver medals at the Philadelphia Summer International and the 2021 Cranberry International. Ma has been coached by Alexei Letov and Olga Ganicheva, with Nikolai Morozov, Peter and Darlene Cain, Elaine Zayak, Hongyun Liu, and Steven Rice as former coaches. His choreographers have included Nikolai Morozov, Jeffrey Buttle, and Adam Blake. In 2025, following a tragic mid-air collision, Ma dedicated his Four Continents medal to the victims from the Skating Club of Boston, demonstrating his connection to the skating community.

Throughout his career, Ma has continued to grow as a competitive skater, participating in numerous Grand Prix and Challenger Series events. He has consistently aimed for strong performances, reflecting a commitment to his sport. His personal best total score stands at 250.97, achieved at the 2021 ISU CS 53rd Golden Spin of Zagreb. His dedication is evident in his consistent presence on the international stage, representing the United States in figure skating.
