Joel Edgerton

Joel Edgerton has established himself as a versatile and award-winning actor, screenwriter, producer, and director with a significant presence in both Australian and international cinema and television. After gaining significant recognition with an AFI Award nomination in 2001, and subsequent win in 2002 for Best Lead Actor in a Television Drama for his role as William McGill in ‘The Secret Life of Us’ (2001–2002), Joel Edgerton achieved international breakthrough as Owen Lars in ‘Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones’ (2002). He continued to build his filmography, starring in features such as ‘Ned Kelly’ (2003), ‘King Arthur’ (2004), and ‘Kinky Boots’ (2005). Edgerton reprised his role as Owen Lars in ‘Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith’ (2005) and expanded into screenwriting and producing with ‘Bloodlock’ (1998) and ‘The Square’ (2008).

Edgerton currently stars as Jason Dessen and executive produces the Apple TV+ series ‘Dark Matter’ (2024), with ‘Train Dreams’ (2025) and ‘The Plague’ (2025) currently in development.
