Joey Greco

Joel Stephen “Joey” Greco was born on February 29, 1972, in Long Island, New York. He pursued higher education at Evangel University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. Subsequently, he obtained a Master’s Degree in counseling from Louisiana Tech University. Greco initially began his professional career as a counselor. He later became a fitness trainer in Dallas, Texas. His career trajectory then shifted into real estate management before he ventured into the entertainment industry. During this period, he also tended bar at a seafood establishment.

Greco’s entry into the entertainment field involved a role on ESPN’s “Fitness Pros” as a fitness trainer. His most recognized role began in December 2002 when he became the host of the reality TV show “Cheaters,” taking over from Tommy Habeeb. He hosted the program for ten seasons. During his tenure with “Cheaters,” Greco was credited as a co-producer after the tenth season. In 2005, he faced an indictment for assault alongside the show’s director and two security guards, but was subsequently acquitted. His work on “Cheaters” led to various cultural references, including an image of him in a 2007 episode of “The Simpsons” and a mention by Seth MacFarlane at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards. In 2012, Greco was replaced as host by Clark Gable III, though he returned for the Season 15 finale in 2015.

Beyond “Cheaters,” Greco expanded his creative efforts. In 2010, he starred in, wrote, and produced the pseudo-reality series “Ghostbreakers,” where he also served as producer and provided additional material for one episode in 2016. As an actor, he appeared in films such as “Finding North” (1998), “The Bottom Line” (2003), “Devon’s Ghost: Legend of the Bloody Boy” (2005), “Serum” (2006), “Mad Bad” (2007), “Night Crawlers” (2009), “The Janky Promoters” (2009), “The Locker” (2011), “The House That Drips Blood on Alex” (2010), and “Charlie: A Toy Story” (2013). His television acting credits include an appearance as himself in “George Lopez” (2007) and roles in “Talkshow with Spike Feresten” (2006), “Unhitched” (2008), “House arrest With Andy Dick” (2009), and “The Jay Leno Show” (2009). In 2017, he hosted “Netflix Cheaterz,” a parody series for Netflix. As of 2023, Greco works as a realtor in Dallas.
