Joey Greene
Joey Greene, a multifaceted American talent, has made a mark as an artist, comedian, and Program Manager at Wildwood camp. Born and raised in the heart of Kansas City, Greene embarked on his academic journey at Kansas State University. In 2006, he founded Smarty Pants Theatre, showcasing his artistic flair and love for entertainment. Concurrently, he became an integral part of Comedy City KC, contributing to the vibrant comedic scene.
Notably, Greene’s diverse talents brought him into the limelight when he was featured on Season 3 of Netflix’s ‘Queer Eye.’ The ‘fab five’ cast members delved into different facets of Greene’s life, offering constructive feedback and practical suggestions, especially regarding his work in the great outdoors. With a camp journey that began in 1991 as a lifeguard, Greene found his professional home at Wildwood camp in 1996, initially serving as an adventure guide.
Despite worldly travels, Greene’s dedication to Wildwood remained steadfast, prompting his return in 2016. Residing on-site at Wildwood, south of Olathe, near La Cygnes Lake, he exemplifies his commitment to outdoor education and adventure, particularly for children from low-income backgrounds in Kansas City. Joey Greene’s life story is a testament to his passion for learning, comedic expression, and creating enriching experiences for the youth he serves.
