Johnny Messner

Johnny Messner was born on April 11, 1970, in Syracuse, New York. He spent 13 years of his childhood in Europe, primarily in Germany and England, due to his father’s service in the United States Air Force. During this period, he developed an interest in sports, playing on various teams at military bases. He briefly attended San Diego State University with the intention of majoring in sports broadcasting before deciding to pursue an acting career, returning to New York to do so. His acting career officially began in 1998, with early roles in television series such as “Guiding Light,” “Angel,” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.”

Messner’s career advanced through the early 2000s with notable film appearances. In 2003, he appeared in “Tears of the Sun” and “Finding Home.” The following year, 2004, marked a significant milestone with roles in “Spartan,” “The Whole Ten Yards,” and his first leading role in a mainstream film, “Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid,” where he played an ex-military man, Bill Johnson. His portrayal of a muscular military man in “Anacondas” significantly contributed to his recognition within the industry. He continued to build a strong filmography, often cast in action-oriented roles, which solidified his image as an action hero.

Throughout his career, Messner has accumulated over 80 acting credits and has also moved into production, holding producer and executive producer roles on more than 10 films in recent years.
